Wild Rice Split Pea Soup


If you like split peas, you'll love this soup. Wild rice enhances the hearty flavor of this high protein pea soup, and our special herb seasonings make this a vegan delight. Meat lovers may cook with a leftover ham bone or top with crisp, crumbled bacon. Makes 2-½ quarts.

Directions: Rinse split peas and put into a pot with 10 cups water. Add remaining package ingredients. Bring to a boil, reduce heat and simmer approximately 2 hours or until desired consistency is reached. (Crockpot High for 4 to 6 hours, or Low 8 to 12 hours). Instant Pot: Place all ingredients in Instant Pot. Cook 50 minutes on Meat/Stew setting.
